
Meet Andy
Andy Hamish Smith has a wealth of experience in counselling, education and leadership development spanning over four decades. Working with people from all walks of life, and extensively in the fields of community services, health, education, social enterprise, case management, human resources and corporate business sectors, Andy brings into every conversation the valuable element of security and support in an emotionally safe environment. His passion is to see people set free and live knowing who they are, what they want to do and how to do it.
Specialising in self-awareness, confidence building and personal development, Andy provides many life-changing ‘ah-haa’ moments in your Therapeutic Chats, along with an unassuming sense of humour that keeps a light heart amidst the more serious aspects of life. Andy develops individual creative wellness plans for each of his clients, there are no cookie-cutter approaches.
Andy understands the creative personality and spent 15 years in the music industry as a musician, band manager and music copyist for live television (Channel 9, 2, 10 and Young Talent Time). He oversees Creative Art Workshops and Retreats and mentors artists and writers.
Andy is currently pursuing a Masters of Youth Mental Health. He holds a Bachelor degree in Social Science (Counseling), Grad Diploma HR Training and Organisation Development, and Cert IV Workplace Assessor. His work includes CEO Youth At Risk Oz; Dept. Juvenile Justice, VIC; Educator in remote indigenous communities; and Assessor for Australian Institute of Professional Counselors.
Andy, as Andrew H. Smith, is the author of “88 Days: Road to Recovery from Trauma” with his wife, Wendy Manzo. 88 Days presents a four-stage sequence of the journey from shock to recovery. Based Andy’s Grief Model of Change© these four stages can be used by anyone, anywhere, in almost any situation that requires us to process trauma and manage change.
